STRATEGY CASE STUDIES

Client Example – Central UK Government Department

  • Working in a multidisciplinary combined team we led the development of a platform strategy for a major UK government department that aligned with their new operating model and major growth strategy in terms of their services.
  • The strategy incorporated the flows between the core Integrated Workplace Management System, Finance systems, CRM systems, Data Hubs and a complex supply chain.
  • The interaction was at their Executive Level and was part of a multi-million investment in the transformation of how the UK government runs their estate.
  • The strategy was adopted and the platform has gone live, with our continuing support as a client-side advisor.

Client Example – Global Engineering Company

  • We developed a new corporate strategy for a FTSE250 well known global engineering company. The primary aim was growth.
  • We adopted a twin-track approach in which we concentrated on understanding current performance in terms of costs, resourcing, markets and profitability. Then, working closely with the executive board, we ran a series of workshops to explore opportunities and options for change, identifying not only the scale and potential benefits, but also barriers to change, risks and possible competitor responses.
  • Market strategies, entry strategies and performance analysis formed the bedrock of our work.
  • The process resulted in a change in direction for the company in several of its core markets, accompanied by an internal restructuring to align accountabilities and responsibilities with the new corporate priorities.
  • The profitability of the company rose by 25% in two years immediately following implementation of our recommendations.

transformation CASE STUDies

Client Example – Major Middle East Owner/Occupier

  • Working in partnership with others, we led a major implementation of a Real Estate and Accounting system for a Design District in the Middle East.
  • This project ran from the initial strategy work, through requirements, specification, selection and client-side support of the implementation.
  • The project went live and in production on time and has been used as a base platform for further developments and enhancements across the client’s wide-ranging portfolio.

Client Example – Creating a regulator

  • An executive non-departmental public body was delivering programmes to improve the sector, including creating material and advising its parent government department on policy.  Alongside that programme delivery it was also regulating the sector, ensuring provider quality.  The government decided to separate these two elements and create an independent regulator.
  • We developed the as-is and to-be operating model designs to define the transformation to create the new regulator.  In doing so, we were able to support innovative thinking on how best to develop regulation in the sector.
  • The regulator went live successfully and has improved quality in the sector.

recovery CASE STUDIES

Client Example – Global Investment/Retail Bank

  • In a multidisciplinary team and working closely with other partners, we led a project to review the Management Information Reporting Framework for a global investment/retail bank.
  • The project created a streamlined framework that covered strategic, operational and sustainability reporting categories and recommended a revised approach to the methodologies used to capture and structure the data.
  • These recommendations were used as a basis of the reporting specifications used in the global tender exercise the bank was undertaking with its supply chain.

Client Example – Magic Circle Law Firm

  • A major technology roll-out across the globe of a new general practice management system was proving very challenging.  Many of the partners in the law firm were not aware or keen on having a new system.  The programme delivery team was stuck treading water, suppliers were unable to progress, and costs were escalating with no outputs.
  • Piloted into the senior programme team, we drove engagement with the client to unstick the commitment globally to the new system.
  • The system is now in use and delivering significant benefits to the firm and also its clients, particularly with earlier and increased transparency of billing.
